CLEAR ALIGNERS & INVISALIGN · DUBAI
Clear aligners.
Carefully planned.
Incisor torque, lip contour, smile arc, root control and bite correction still need a plan. Explore how attachments, space decisions and additional mechanics may fit clear aligner treatment.

THE MOVEMENTS BEHIND THE TRAYS
Plan the force, the space and the finish.
The treatment is designed around the intended tooth and root positions.
Attachments, elastics & root control

How I plan this
Attachments and elastics may help deliver particular movements. Root torque, rotations, vertical correction and anchorage are assessed when selecting the approach.
Space & facial support

How I plan this
IPR, expansion, distalization or extractions are different ways of addressing space. Incisor position, lip support, the bite and periodontal limits inform the choice.
Bite correction & combined mechanics

How I plan this
Some plans need TAD support, a staged appliance sequence or fixed-appliance treatment for part of the correction. The appropriate tool follows the movement required.
THE PLAN THROUGH THE PROCESS
A sequence of care.
Not just a sequence of trays.
Understand the clinical plan, the responsibilities and what happens afterward.
- 01
Assessment
The teeth, bite, oral health and intended movements guide whether aligners are suitable.
- 02
The plan
Discuss attachments, elastics, space management or other procedures if relevant. The treatment plan is more than a series of trays.
- 03
Wear & review
Follow the prescribed wear and cleaning instructions, attend reviews and ask what to do if an aligner is lost or no longer fits.
- 04
Retention
Plan how the result will be maintained after active treatment, with individual retainer instructions and follow-up.
THE EVERYDAY RESPONSIBILITY
Removable.
Still a commitment.
Bring up your routine before choosing an option.
Wear as prescribed
Ask for the schedule intended for your treatment and what to do if wear has been missed.
Plan meals & cleaning
Discuss removal, cleaning, drinks and a safe storage case.
Keep the reviews
Ask how progress is checked and when to contact the clinic about fit or damage.
MATERIALS AND RESTORATIVE GOALS
Discuss the options that matter to your plan.
Bring your preferences, including concerns about visible attachments or future dental work.
01Attachment-free approaches
An appearance preference needs a movement plan
Some movements may be planned with fewer or no visible attachments. Others need attachments, elastics or different mechanics. I discuss the movements and the level of control required before promising a particular appliance appearance.
02Shape-memory aligner materials

Material behavior is one part of the system
Shape-memory materials are designed to recover toward a programmed form. Evidence, available systems, tooth tracking, wear instructions and refinement needs must still be considered. A newer material alone does not guarantee superior control or eliminate refinements.
03Aligners before veneers, crowns or implants

Plan the restorative space and roots
In selected patients, orthodontics can improve tooth positions and the space for restorative work. The restorative dentist and orthodontist coordinate tooth proportions, root positions, the bite and the sequence of the final restoration.
SEE THE RELATIONSHIP
Keep the result in the plan.
Retention follows active orthodontic treatment.

Further patient information
Can clear aligners be used in facially driven orthodontics?
They may be part of a plan that considers incisor position, lip support, smile arc, space management and the bite. The movements needed and their limits determine whether aligners, braces or a combined approach are appropriate.
Can I have aligners without attachments?
Some plans may use fewer or no attachments for particular movements. Other movements need attachments, elastics or additional mechanics. An attachment-free appearance cannot be promised before the bite and intended movements are assessed.
What are shape-memory aligners?
These use materials designed to recover toward a programmed shape. Material properties are one part of the appliance. Evidence, the movements required, current availability and the complete treatment plan still need review. The material does not guarantee an attachment-free or refinement-free result.
Why might aligner treatment need IPR, extractions or TADs?
IPR is a planned reduction between teeth to create limited space. Extractions, elastics or temporary anchorage devices address different space or movement requirements. Their need follows the diagnosis. They are not automatically avoided by choosing aligners.
Do you have an actual Invisalign case?
Yes. Case 03 records a 35-year-old patient’s Class III treatment with Invisalign, two extractions, 18 months and eight visits. Those facts describe that individual patient.
Can aligners help before restorative treatment?
Selected cases may use aligners to improve tooth positions and the space for veneers, crowns, bridges or implants. Root positions, the bite and the restorative goal are planned together with the relevant dentist.
What does wearing aligners involve?
Follow the prescribed wear, cleaning and review schedule. Ask about attachments, elastics, tray fit, lost aligners, additional aligners if needed and the retainer plan after active treatment.
